More staining with PRS

Found another video on YT. Interesting to hear from the man how private stock comes up with their signature color schemes.

Green color achieved by adding yellow over blue base.  Initial coat was lightened with clean wet rag pulling blue out of base to expose grain better.

Many YT guitar staining videos show sanding dark base to bring out grain.  However there is only so much sanding a veneer top can take.  Interestingly this vid really makes an impression upon me to make my own color scheme rather than just trying to make a PRS clone.  Why not take this opportunity to go out of the norm and make something unique?  Jimmy Page, originally an art school student playing guitar to financially support his true love, has his dragon painted tele.  Why not make something outside of cookie cutter lane?
Pavement in Norman,OK in 1994.  Saw them 5 years later when they seemed kind of over it.  Back to back nights at the Filmore was punctuated with a Saturday night non-setlist rendition of "Stereo" that made it happen for us.
Cheers
